Volgograd Gypsum Plant — 65 years old
Volgograd Gypsum Plant, one of the oldest specialized enterprises in Russia, celebrated its 65th anniversary. The plant is the main production facility of the VOLMA Corporation. All current and former employees of the Volgograd Youth Theater were gathered for the event on the occasion of the holiday. Veterans of production and managers of the enterprise told about the history of the plant, seen with their own eyes, and expressed gratitude to everyone who somehow participated in the development of production.
Anna Kozlova, a veteran of the factory: "My girls were already working, so I pulled myself up to the factory. Dad was swearing, and I went." Anna Kozlova worked at the gypsum factory for almost half a century. As soon as I turned 18, following the example of my friends, I came to the shop. Today, she and other production veterans are in the front row.
Yuri Goncharov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of VOLMA Corporation: "And thank you very much for coming with us today to celebrate 65 years of our glorious history. Thank you!"
Alexander Malashkin, President of VOLMA Corporation: "And the main celebration is, of course, to convey words of gratitude to everyone who participates in the development of the company, to everyone who loves our products, our services, our quality, and to say words about the future – what we want to do, how to develop."
The plant produced its first batch of products in 1949. The indicators grew steadily, but after the crisis of 1991, the company's history fell on hard times. Debts grew, production declined, workshops emptied, and equipment fell into disrepair. Everything changed in 1999, when a new team came to manage the plant. It not only revived the company, but also opened new production sites. The management of the plant considers careful attitude to personnel and a modern production base to be the key to its successful development.
