By 2017, a new TV tower will be built in Samara, designed to replace the outdated structure on Sovetskaya Armii Street. The tower will be 240 meters high. Unlike the existing tower, the new tower will broadcast both television and radio signals. The existing Radio Center and tower will need to be moved in connection with the construction of the stadium for the World Cup — these works will be carried out in parallel with the construction of the new structure. Construction of the new tower is expected to start this year and be completed by 2017. In total, it is planned to spend 1.4 billion rubles on construction and relocation work, including 1.3 billion rubles from the federal budget.
