Samara hosted a round table discussion on the problem of eliminating catastrophic takeovers during drilling
October 16, 2014 in the Exhibition Center EXPO VOLGA (Samara) in the framework of the VIII international specialized exhibition " Oil Production. Oil refining. Chemistry " held a round table on the topic: "Effective ways to eliminate catastrophic absorption during drilling". The event was attended by leading specialists and managers of both domestic and multinational oil and oilfield service companies. All participants confirmed the high relevance of the topic of finding effective technologies and materials aimed at solving the problem of acquisitions.
Unfortunately, today there is no universal way to solve this problem, because catastrophic absorption can occur when drilling absolutely any well, in any climate zone and areas with different geological sections. This was discussed at the round table. Its participants considered both various materials for isolating increased uptakes, and drilling technologies themselves, which allow avoiding costs in the event of catastrophic uptakes.
SGC CJSC also took part in this event, because its product range includes high – strength gypsum for eliminating absorption-an effective and eco-friendly product, unlike many other materials used to solve this problem. Based on it, the SBM Service Center company developed a PolizemGIPS mixture designed specifically for isolation of catastrophic absorptions.
As a result of the round table, the participants managed to agree on conducting tests in real field conditions. It was unanimously decided to continue discussing this topical issue and report on the test results at the upcoming conference in Tuapse.
