The main part of the production of gypsum products is the production of various building materials: dry building mixes, compositions, plates, panels, sheets, decorative products. The Credinform news agency conducted a study "The gypsum and gypsum products market in Russia", which showed that the largest share in the production of gypsum products is made up of gypsum boards and plasterboard sheets — approximately 95% (excluding dry building mixes, the production of which accounts for about 30% of the industrial use of gypsum in Russia). For the first 8 months of 2012, the production volume of these products amounted to 179 million square meters.m. (for comparison, for the whole of 2011 — 252 million square meters. m.), that is, according to the results of the whole year, the production of gypsum products shows a steady development: the growth of production volumes is 5-7%.

The leaders in the production of gypsum products are the Central Federal District (27%), the Volga Federal District (27%) and the Southern Federal District (20%).
