Situation on the Russian drywall market
According to the Drywall Production Business Plan (with Financial Model), the drywall market is highly dependent on the construction and repair market. Due to the growth of construction, in particular housing, building materials are very much in demand today.
Relatively inexpensive and popular among other building materials, drywall is in great demand not only among individuals, but also large construction companies. The drywall market reached its peak before the crisis of 2008 and has been actively developing in recent years.
Due to the presence of shortcomings in the properties of drywall, its varieties and various alternative materials appear, for example, gypsum fiber sheets, glass-magnesium sheets, gypsum particle boards, aquapanels, which are more durable and moisture-resistant. Thus, the product lines of drywall manufacturers are constantly expanding.
Today, the Russian gypsum market can be described as the market of one player-the undisputed leader in gypsum production, the German company Knauf CIS, which in 2012 occupied 63% of the market. The shares of other players are much smaller. Thus, the second place belonged to the Russian company "Volma", which occupied only 14% of the market. Samara Gypsum Plant, Decor-1 and Gipsopolymer each accounted for 4%.
