The French presented a project for the production of gypsum to the Chelyabinsk region
French representatives of the construction materials industry presented to Acting Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region Boris Dubrovsky a large-scale project for the production of gypsum in the region. The project is designed to use one of the Chelyabinsk deposits of natural lime. The meeting was held within the framework of the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg.
The Saint-Gobain Concern is already one of the leading producers of basalt fiber thermal insulation in Russia, and this production is also based in the Southern Urals (in 2011, the concern acquired the assets of CJSC Plant Minplita). The French do not intend to rest on their laurels and strive to expand their business in the Chelyabinsk region. Saint-Gobain provided the province with a project for the production of gypsum based on one of the natural lime deposits. It is worth noting that it is the deposits of natural resources (and other natural resources) that are designated in the regional development strategy as one of the key competitive advantages of the Southern Urals.
