In the production of gypsum binders and dry building mixes, as a rule, the following automation technologies are used::

1) automatic control of technological parameters (pressure, temperature, material consumption, flue gas composition, level of bulk materials in bunkers, digesters, etc.);

2) centralized remote control of electric drives of the main and auxiliary mechanisms, as well as switching and regulating devices (gas flow gates, heat switches, etc.);

3) automatic regulation of the operation of individual process units and lines.

Automation is called partial if it covers only some of the main operations or processes of control, regulation and management; it is complex if all the main and auxiliary operations or management processes are automated so that the specified productivity, as well as product quality, is achieved without human intervention.

Currently, in the manufacture of semi-aqueous gypsum, automatic control of the operation of crushers and the filling of bunkers with gypsum rubble, mine and other mills for grinding two-water gypsum, gypsum firing in the digester conveyors for feeding two-water gypsum powder to the boiler at the moment when the established upper level of material is reached in it is used. This is achieved by using a radioactive level indicator and corresponding relays that affect the current supply to electric motors. In the future, when the set temperature is reached, when the corresponding electric motors are turned on, the exhaust valves of the digester are opened and the product is released into the holding hopper. After the gypsum is released, the lower-level radioactive indicator switches on the corresponding relay. In this case, the chain of the specified spool is broken and the exhaust valves are closed; at the same time, screw containers for loading gypsum powder are turned on.
