Rockwool Energy Consumption Conference
Rockwool's representative office in Russia held a press conference on the current topic of energy efficiency of buildings under construction and in operation, measures to increase it and reduce heat loss. Of course, the conference was largely devoted to Rockwool's own solutions based on stone wool, but nevertheless, its main goal was to attract wide attention of the construction community to the problem.
The General Director of the Russian branch of the company noted that Russia lags behind in implementing modern energy efficiency policies by about 20 years, steps to overcome the gap are almost not taken, and over time it only increases. The company sees the main potential in the reconstruction of existing buildings, where the hidden reserves of energy saving are very large.
One of the main problems facing the adoption of measures to improve energy efficiency is the imperfection of the relevant regulatory framework, the lack of real energy consumption standards, from which it is possible to deduce reduced and increased indicators. The conference guests were shown an interactive exhibition that clearly confirms the existence of all the problems voiced. Thermal imaging images of typical buildings in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Kazan were used, where irrational heat loss is evident.
