In general, dry building mixes are one of the most popular types of building materials, both at a construction site and during home repairs. Dry mixes are combined into one class of materials only on the basis of their form of release, but their purpose, composition, technology of use - have a significant variety.
The composition of a dry building mix can almost always be divided into functional components: as a rule, these are binders, substances responsible for the properties of the product, and filler. Often the mixture includes modifying additives - it can be a thickener, plasticizer, water repellent, antifreeze additives, etc. All of them allow one way or another to change the characteristics of the mixture, giving it the properties necessary in a particular case: for example, a water repellent is added to increase the moisture resistance of the composition, antifreeze additives - for use in construction work at low temperatures.
The main substances used as the basis of dry mixes are gypsum, limestone and cement. Most often one of these binders is used, but there are mixtures that are mixed options.
Most mixtures contain polymer additives that affect the strength that the product, structure or coating is achieved by hardening. Some additives also improve the most significant indicator of CCC - adhesiveness.
The most obvious basis for the classification of CCC is by designation. The scope of the dry mix can be of a very different nature, it is impossible, of course, to touch all the functional types of CCC within the framework of a small article. First of all, the CCC class includes repair, putty, adhesive, leveling, plaster mixtures, mixtures for the preparation of masonry mortar. Some mixtures are used for external work, some for internal, some for construction, some for decoration. Thus, dry building mixtures at the same time constitute a homogeneous class of building materials with a number of similar properties, and are very diverse, forcing to approach the consideration and selection of each type individually.
